Insurance apps typically aren’t part of a user's daily routine, as they're primarily accessed for tasks like purchasing policies or filing claims. However, the stakeholders at this company are eager to change that. Their goal is to boost app downloads and increase user engagement, transforming the app into a more integral tool for customers beyond just occasional transactions.
To enhance user engagement and transform the insurance app into a more dynamic and valuable resource, I introduced several new features, including articles, communities, and events. These additions were carefully designed to encourage more frequent use, creating a platform where users can find value beyond just policy management or claims.
The *Articles* section was designed to provide users with valuable insights into insurance, personal finance, and wellness tips. By delivering relevant, engaging content, we aimed to position the app as a trusted source of information, prompting users to return regularly for updates.
Next, I incorporated *Community* features, allowing users to connect, share experiences, and ask questions. This fosters a sense of belonging and mutual support, giving users a reason to engage with the app even when they’re not directly interacting with their insurance policy. By creating an interactive space, the app became a hub for discussion and collaboration on insurance-related topics.
the Events feature in collaboration with the marketing team to streamline their event management processes. This updated feature not only promoted webinars, workshops, and live sessions, but also integrated a seamless ticketing system to support the marketing team's efforts in organizing and managing events. By incorporating ticket sales and registration directly into the app, we simplified the entire process for both users and the marketing team. Users could now discover, register, and receive event updates all within the app, enhancing their overall experience. For the marketing team, this new functionality eliminated the need for external platforms, making event promotion, ticket tracking, and user engagement more efficient.
Together, these features transformed the app into a more holistic platform, increasing user retention, engagement, and ultimately contributing to the app’s success in becoming a more integral part of customers’ daily lives.
